Annual Adviser Accountability Review: Methodology

Understand the approach, what your result can tell you, and where judgment still matters.

Evidence for a better renewal conversation

Compare the engagement with the work delivered

The review organizes what you hired a professional to do, what they actually delivered, and what still rests with you. It considers costs, proactive work, decision support, coordination, and the improvements you want next year.

Rather than compressing those facts into a value score, it identifies unresolved responsibilities and incomplete cost information, then prepares an accountability brief and a focused meeting agenda.

Reading your accountability brief

Annual cost
The professional’s fee and applicable additional costs are brought together. A known subtotal is not the full cost when another component remains unknown.
Responsibility record
The brief distinguishes delivered work, shared or incomplete work, unresolved expectations, and work you still own.
Engagement changes
Gaps become requests for clearer scope, ownership, deliverables, deadlines, or coordination.
Renewal conversation
Your stated inclination to renew, change, leave, or gather more evidence informs the agenda. The tool does not independently rate the professional.
Assumptions and information to check

Review one professional and one period at a time. Engagement letters, invoices, service calendars, and your record of completed work are useful evidence. The tool relies on what you report; it does not contact the professional or inspect their files.

Costs may be confirmed, estimated, or unknown. Check that amounts cover the same period and that product, platform, transaction, or other applicable expenses are neither omitted nor duplicated.

Professionals share the same roster as Build Your Wealth Team, but each review has its own draft and dated result. When an earlier review exists for the same professional, the next result compares annual cost, responsibilities needing follow-up, member burden and the renewal decision. It uses the saved results as written and does not infer whether every prior commitment was fulfilled.

A result you can revisit

This page describes the current tool. An older saved result may use an earlier approach; its saved version and conclusions remain unchanged. Reviewing your answers and completing an updated run creates a new result without rewriting the earlier one.
